I’m a Nigerian-American therapist and author of “Trapped in Their Script: Reclaim Your Life from Narcissistic Parents & Cultural Expectations.”

My book is for adult children of narcissistic parents in collective cultures.

It demonstrates how people can save themselves while maintaining their cultural connections and guides mental health professionals in helping clients navigate this journey.

The book examines narcissistic trauma through a cultural lens and helps distinguish true narcissistic behavior from similar mental health conditions.

The title captures the universal truth for adult children of narcissistic parents: they’ve been forced to play roles in their parents’ stories.

In collective cultures, this script is exaggerated, including both the narcissistic parent’s script and the cultural script of family obligation.

My book will show readers how to reclaim their lives by rewriting their roles while staying true to their chosen cultural values while still healing.
