About me:
As a first-generation Eritrean-American and childhood stage 2 kidney cancer survivor, I bring both lived experience and professional insight into my therapeutic work.
I hold a Master of Social Work from the University of Nevada, Reno, and am working towards my LCSW in Oregon.
My practice centers Black and Brown individuals and communities, focusing on healing, empowerment, and identity exploration.
I’ve facilitated therapeutic groups for Black and Brown children/adults, emphasizing self-esteem, emotional regulation, and cultural identity through creative activities.
These groups use trauma-informed, client-centered, strengths-based, and culturally responsive practices. My specialties include trauma, anxiety, families, LGBTQIA+, and identity development.
I work primarily with children, teens, and adults of color, using an integrative, person-centered approach that includes CBT, DBT, art therapy techniques, mindfulness, and narrative therapy.
I also have experience providing in person & Telehealth therapy.
I believe healing happens in safe, affirming relationships, and my role is to walk alongside clients as they rediscover their power and voice.
I am passionate about holding grounded and free space for thought exploration.
I am also skilled in addressing the complexities of bicultural identity, intergenerational stressors, dual diagnoses, and cultural dissonance, offering clients space to explore these challenges with nuance and care.
My approach is culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and grounded in systems awareness.
